GM has given the GMC Acadia !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (don’t mind the lazily ‘Shopped LHD Acadia Denali in this press pic, LOL) and rebadged it. I initially thought it was weird that they replaced the GMC lettering with the Holden badge and left the rectangular blank behind, but I’ve warmed up to it.

I’ve read that Chevrolet is revealing a new vehicle in Chicago on September 22nd; perhaps it’s the TrailBlazer? I really liked the concept.

EDIT: Turns out that I didn’t read the linked article that closely. The Holden Acadia’s grille will probably look more like this once it enters production. WHOOPSIE!!

Yup! They need to bring the Trailblazer up here! Espeacilly in that color :)

That Acadia looks like an absolute mess, 2016 looks better imo. And the badge work just looks lazy and cheap, especially when nothing else in their lineup has that.

Also, look at the badge placements on all three cars lol.

That rebadge job reminds me of the old Holden Suburban.

The Acadia looks unfinished to me. Like, they ran out of time to make the design come together.

That’s what came to my mind when I first saw it, too.

As for the new Chevrolet to be revealed in Chicago, it’s probably NOT gonna be the TrailBlazer.

I see the following as possibilities:

- Slightly shrunken down next generation Equinox

- Slightly grown next generation Traverse

- A new CUV that will slot between the two above vehicles

- Camaro ZL1 Convertible

- Facelifted Impala (let’s be honest, it’s due for a facelift, when almost every other Chevrolet has either been redesigned or updated in the last two years)

All three look cheap to me

Probably unlikely, the only body-on-frame SUVs that are popular here in the US are either Wranglers, 4Runners, full size, or luxury ones.

If it’s not one of those, buyers are gonna want a CUV instead.

Yeah, the Equinox was my second guess - I feel like prototypes for that have been running around for basically forever.

The ZL1 Convertible has already been unveiled.

Maybe, but they sell well enough to justify selling it.

Even if to only subsidize the Colorado platform.

Holden is a badge manufacturer now. No unique AUS vehicles anymore.

Yeah, and with the 2017's coming out, it’s due for a mid-cycle facelift for ‘17 or ‘18.

I generally liked the post-refresh previous-gen Acadia, and I prefer its rear fascia to the new one’s rear fascia. Overall, though, I prefer the looks of the new one.

I’m honestly surprised that they didn’t put more work into the Holden’s grille considering how much that they must have spent on the RHD conversion.

Either that, or it could become another Cadillac ELR.

I completely forgot that the ZL1 convertible was already unveiled...right alongside the coupe, nonetheless. My bad.

The Equinox is SO due for it’s redesign, MotorWeek mentioned in their road test of the updated ‘16.

Like Longbow said, there won’t be any products made by Holden for Holden anymore due to globalization; it’s all badge-engineering now.

yeah, but the ELR was more expensive, and a coupe.

The convertible was unveiled a little while after the coupe, IIRC.

I’m honestly surprised that the Equinox has been around for this long without being changed that much - heck, Ford did a more thorough refresh of the Escape.

True, but the TrailBlazer is an SUV, and would be more expensive than the Colorado.

Though, they would be the same brand, which is apples to oranges vs going from Chevrolet to Cadillac.

Is the Acadia the only reason why GMC still exists? Because its their only “unique” vehicle as all the other GMC’s are prettier versions of Chevrolet Trucks and SUV’s. And they only sell in USA/Canada, the middle east and now one vehicle in Australia.

Also TIL they sold the Captiva/Antara as a GMC Terrain:

GMC lets GM sell Chevys with some aesthetic changes, slightly nicer interiors and some extra features.

The previous-gen Acadia shared a platform with the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and long-dead Saturn Outlook, and I figure that the next-gen Traverse and Enclave will share the new Acadia’s underpinnings.

Kinja'd!!!1

As I understand, there’s two main reasons why GMC still exists.

So that Buick dealerships have a full product line to sell (Buick not doing trucks)

There’s, IIRC, been market studies done, showing that a significant portion of GMC buyers would defect to Ford or Ram before buying a Chevrolet. (In other words, Americans are retarded.)

Article says that’s a US-market LHD car with Holden badges, meant for testing, etc. Here’s hoping they take care of that grille by its 2018 introduction...

It exists so that Ford can say they have the #1 selling trucks even though their numbers are less than GM when you combine Chevy and GMC.
